Rockin’ the River is back for the sixth year and we have a great season lined up; we’re bringing in some fresh acts as well as favorites from previous years. New this season is an all day, series finale happening on Saturday, August 13. “Since we started Rockin’ the River six years ago, our tubers have asked for the opportunity to float the river and enjoy a concert on a weekend,” said Trinity River Vision Authority Executive Director, J.D. Granger. “This year we’re responding to those requests and capping the season in style,” he said. Here’s what we have lined up for 2016:
June 16 To be announced May 15th
June 23 Prophets & Outlaws with Erick Willis
June 30 Eleven Hundred Springs with Larry Hooper
July 7 Dalton Domino with Austin Meade
July 14 Dolly Shine with Grady Spencer
July 21 Parker McCollum with Chance Anderson
July 28 Zane Williams with Ray Johnston Band
August 4 Midnight River Choir with Troy Cartwright
August 11 Dirty River Boys with Cody Bryan Band
August 13 Cooder Graw, Statesboro Revue, Aaron Einhouse, Red Shahan and Austin Allsup
The Saturday show will start at 1:00 pm and end with a fireworks show at 9:15 pm. The gates open at 4:30 pm for all Thursday shows and patrons can bring a blanket and chairs or enjoy front row seats from the comfort of a tube. At 6:45 pm the headliner will kick off on the Coors Waterfront Stage. At 8:30pm the after party band will play on the Southshore Stage and then the festivities end at dark with a fireworks show. In addition to the two stages, the Coors Riverfront Ice House will be back serving ice cold brews, providing shaded seating as well as live TVs which play Rangers games when they’re on! And don’t forget, thanks to The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion, all Rockin’ the River events will happen rain or shine!
Rockin’ the River is presented by Andrews Distributing Company and Coors Light. It is generously sponsored by North Texas Marine, Backwoods Fort Worth, Margaritaville, 95.9 The Ranch, Pepsi and produced by the Trinity River Vision Authority.
