DESCRIPTION:Come join Cox Running Club on November 26th to kick off your Thanksgiving! See old friends and make new ones. Runners and race walkers from all over the community are welcome to come out and participate in the 2020 Holiday 5000 Thanksgiving Day Run. Whether you are a competitive runner\, mid-pack runner\, jogger\, or walker\, everyone has a good time. \nDue to the CDC and the State of Texas guidelines\, we have decided to cap each respective race distance to avoid overcrowding the trail. We also want to strongly encourage all social distancing measures at the race site for the health and safety of participants and spectators. Please help us make this a successful TEAM EFFORT. \nWe will require participants to wear a mask before and after the race (when not running). Runners can dispose of the mask shortly after the start of the race when they feel the crowd has disbursed enough. We will have a trashcan approximately 100-400 meters away from the start to dispose of temporary masks. This is a chip-timed event\, therefore runners should distance themselves at the start accordingly to have a socially distanced and safe start. We will line up according to your pace along the trails for the start. We will start in quick waves to limit the crowding at the start line.

SUMMARY:2020 Fort Worth Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars now for the 14th Annual Fort Worth Marathon to be held Sunday\, November 8\, 2020. The Fort Worth Marathon\, 20 Mile\, and Half Marathon are scheduled to begin and end at The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion. The 20 Mile race is a sub-split tempo run and Dallas Marathon training event. This is a fast\, flat and Boston Qualifier! \nWe will practice social distancing throughout the event by “requiring” each registered participant to wear a mask at the start and finish area of the races. This is a chip-timed event\, therefore runners should distance themselves at the start accordingly to have a social distanced and safe start. We will line up according to your pace along the trails for the start. We will start in quick waves to limit the crowding at the start line.   \nAfter we reach capacity for each distance online registration will close accordingly. Therefore\, we strongly recommend registering online as soon as possible.

DESCRIPTION:While the COVID-19 pandemic has brought much disruption and uncertainty to our world\, some things will not change – our drive and commitment to a vision of creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D)\, and this Fall\, the Greater Fort Worth JDRF One Walk will take place! Although we will not be able to gather together in person\, Walk will NOT change the commitment to finding a cure. From walking in your neighborhood park to virtually walking with friends and family around the world\, your ability to “reimagine” One Walk this year is limitless. We realize that the One Walk has never been just about the tents\, the music\, the food or the activities at the Walk site. It is the unified spirit of the T1D community coming together as one force rallying for an end to T1D. \nStay tuned for more details\, including ways to participate from wherever you are\, planned incentives and challenges\, fun experiences\, and information on our participation in the first ever JDRF National Walk Day to be held on November 1\, 2020!

DESCRIPTION:TOUR DE CURE IS NOW VIRTUAL   \nThe safety and health of people living with diabetes\, their families\, our supporters and volunteers are our #1 priority. With that in mind\, we have decided to host our Tour de Cure® event VIRTUALLY. \nThe American Diabetes Association® (ADA) continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). We are following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)\, the World Health Organization (WHO) and other health authorities and have decided to change ALL events nationwide to virtual events to include the 2020 Tour de Cure: North Texas on 10/24/2020. We will not hold our event at Panther Island Pavilion. \nEven though we won’t be hosting a traditional event\, our virtual event will be a chance for you to participate with other people in our community – keeping safe distancing rules in place\, of course. Prior to event day\, we will have fun and engaging ways to connect to our community of supporters. \nHOW TO BE A PART OF A VIRTUAL EVENT \n\nRide\, Run or Walk in your neighborhood or at home. Walk or Run: around your neighborhood or in place at home.
