Kayak-Style Tournament Promises Big Bass

The third event for Trinity Bass Battle's Fall Series is Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Panther Island Pavilion.
The Trinity Bass Battle kayak fishing tournament series will hold the third event in its four tournament fall series on Sunday, October 29 at Panther Island PavilionAnglers pay a $20 fee to take part in the series, but there are no entry fees for the tournaments. All participants must provide their own fishing equipment, kayaking gear and Hawg Trough measuring device. Series and Big Bass entry fees are payable in cash only.
Competitors catch, measure, photograph and release all fish and can score up to five largemouth and/or spotted bass at each event. The top three finishers in each event are awarded prizes from the event sponsors. An optional $10 Big Bass Pot is available at each event and the angler that catches the largest bass that day wins the pot. A season-long points race awards the top three overall finishers in the series. Following the second event, we’ve seen a good deal of movement on the leaderboard, including a tie for first place.
Backwoods and Backwoods Paddlesports General Manager, Tim Martin is the tournament director. He urges folks to come on out and discover the fantastic bass fishing that the Trinity has to offer. “Keep your ears open at the award ceremony and you are likely to pick up on how and where the best anglers approach this undiscovered gem of urban fisheries,” says Martin. 
Registration and a captain’s meeting is at 6 a.m. under the Henderson Street Bridge in the Panther Island Pavilion parking lot at 395 Purcey Street. Following the captain’s meeting, anglers are allowed to put in their kayaks at any public launch point and fish the Trinity River anywhere inside Loop 820 in Fort Worth. Check-in will be at 2 p.m. at a location TBA at the meeting. The awards ceremony begins once all photos have been verified
The fourth and final event of the season will take place on Sunday, November 12 and will follow the same format. The series points race winners are announced the same day following the award ceremony for the final event.
