Due to recent rains and flooding, the Tarrant Regional Water District will release water from upstream lakes for the next 2-3 weeks. This additional water will increase the velocity of the Trinity River, creating unsafe conditions for tubing and watersports at Panther Island Pavilion. Because safety is a top concern for event organizers, we have delayed the start of the popular Sunday Funday events by two weeks.
Sunday Funday, a laid-back day of family-friendly fun in the sun, will now begin June 28th. The relaxing event will feature tubing, craft beer from Panther Island Brewing, kayak/canoe/SUP rentals from Backwoods Paddlesports at Panther Island Rentals, SUP yoga from The Yoga Project Fort Worth Studio, disc golf from Funkytown Flyers and more. Food will be available for purchase from various vendors throughout the series such as Chez Flo, Gepetto Pizza, Sweet Baby Ray’s, Smokey’s BBQ and Tail Feathers Wing Wagon. Refreshments such as juice from The Juice Caboose and snow cones from Snowpoke will also be available at all events this summer.
