Oktoberfest Celebration Returns to Panther Island Pavilion


Dust off your lederhosen, the 3rd Annual Oktoberfest Fort Worth is coming back to Panther Island Pavilion! The three day festival, presented by Spaten, will stay true to the traditional, Munich-style Oktoberfest with authentic German food, music and entertainment. The festival will take place at The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion. It will feature both indoor and outdoor biergartens including a main hall where authentic German beer, Spaten Oktoberfest, will be served and a biergaten which will serve fall and Oktoberfest craft beers from around the country.


The festival will kick off Thursday, September 22 with local leaders participating in the ceremonial tapping of the kegs. The celebration will continue on both Friday evening and all day on Saturday. Tickets are available online now will also be sold on site during the festival. Ticket prices range from $5 – $15. Online early bird ticket holders are guaranteed a free 2016 commemorative stein. A limited number of steins will be available for tickets purchased at the gate, while supplies last. Admission for children 12 and under is free with a paying adult.


New this year is the option to purchase a ticket to Reata Haus, a VIP dinner at the festival. Tickets are $60 and include a three-course meal with hearty entrée options of Pork Schnitzel, German Sausage or Roasted Chicken with Bacon Onion Gravy, festival admission, a commemorative stein, VIP seating, non-alcoholic beverages and gratuity. Tickets for the Reata Haus dinner are on sale now and can be purchased at oktoberfestfw.com.


Entertainment will include traditional German music from entertainers like Brave Combo, Alpenmusikanten, Walburg Boys, Alpine Village Band, Das Ist Lustig, and more. Additional Oktoberfest activities will include a dachshund race, bier barrel rolling races, chicken dancing, stein hoisting competitions, dancers of all ages performing traditional Bavarian folk dances and more. Saturday morning will kick off with a 5K, 1-mile fun run and a 15-mile bike ride which will end just in time for the opening of the festival.


Authentic German food will be available and the menu will include festival food such as bratwursts, pretzels, crepes, strudel, schnitzel, roasted nuts and more.
