Detox and Retox at Sunday Funday

Beginning this Sunday, August 2nd, Indigo Yoga will host one hour, donation-based classes on the waterfront stage at Panther Island Pavilion. Indigo Yoga has been Fort Worth’s only Baptiste Yoga affiliate studio since 2006, and teaches over 200 classes a month at their home studio and in the community.

All proceeds from the classes will be donated to The Blue Butterfly Foundation. The mission of The Blue Butterfly Foundation is to provide yoga as a complimentary treatment model for addicts in recovery as well as train teachers to teach in at-risk environments. Indigo Yoga’s Co-Owner and Director,  as well as Blue Butterfly’s Founder and Executive Director, Brooke Hamblet and her team of teachers have taught yoga at a local Fort Worth addiction recovery center, Pine Street, since 2008, where they offer classes to the clients in addiction treatment. Over the past seven years they have taught well over 25,000 clients in recovery. In addition, The Blue Butterfly Foundation is developing a comprehensive treatment model based on yogic teaching and healing. From that model, services have been expanded at Pine Street and multiple mental health facilities and clinics in Tarrant County to include more daily classes, workshops and extended treatment intensives.

After your class you can cross the river and head straight to Sunday Funday, a laid-back, family friendly day on the Trinity River featuring tubes, tunes, water sports, food and craft beer from Panther Island Brewing. Sunday Funday takes place every Sunday at Panther Island Pavilion from noon – 6:00 pm. Admission and parking are free and tube rentals are only $5!
