Due to recent rains the river is moving too fast and is unsafe for tubing. Don’t worry though, Sunday Funday will still happen EVERY SUNDAY this summer. Enjoy free kayak and paddleboard demos. Enjoy half-price kayak, paddleboard, and canoe rentals plus  live music, food, beer and a 9-hole disc golf course.

9 to 9:30 a.m. – Open 5K SUP Race/Paddle registration
9:40 a.m. – Race/Paddle safety meeting
10 a.m. – Open 5K SUP Race/Paddle start
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Free kayak and SUP demos with Hobie, BOTE, and Jarvis

1 to 5 p.m. – Live music from Blackland River Devils

TRWD Spring Trinity Trash Bash After Party at PIP

If you’re cruising around PIP this Saturday chances are you’ll see thousands of happy volunteers celebrating a successful cleanup. The hardworking volunteers you see will have just removed tons, no seriously — TONS — of trash from our river for the Tarrant Regional Water District’s 2nd Annual Spring Trinity Trash Bash. If you see a volunteer be sure to tell them thank you for helping to keep our river clean!

The Damn Quails to Headline Opening Night of Rockin’ the River

It’s official, we can finally announce that The Damn Quails will headline the first night of Rockin’ the River 2016! A favorite from last year, The Damn Quails guarantee to put on a show that will knock your water socks off. Then after their performance, Joey Green Band will take to the Southshore Stage and continue entertaining the after party. Mark you calendar, gather your waterwings and start working on that swimsuit bod because Rockin’ the River is right around the corner!

Fiesta la Grande this Weekend

Gather up the whole family and make plans to attend La Grande 107.5’s annual Fiesta La Grande celebration. The festival will showcase live music from today’s top Regional Mexican musicians. Aside from the festive music, there will be interactive exhibits, authentic Mexican foods, a children’s area, health and lifestyle pavilions and strolling mariachis – all sure to make Fiesta la Grande a memorable family event.

The title says it all, this weekend the Fort Worth weekly is bringing a trifecta of all that is go to The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion.

Taco Fest will feature grub from dozens of area restaurants and food trucks in a celebrity judged competition, in addition to live music, theatrical performances, vendors, DJs, and enough beer to drown the Western hemisphere.

The goal of the Fort Worth Taco Festival is to bring people of different backgrounds and ethnicities closer together by promoting, celebrating, and honoring the cross-section of our cultures.

The taco is more than just a tasty treat –– it’s a way to remind us of the many things we have in common. After all, the town that parties together stays together

Two Steppin’ on the Trinity at the Cowtown Ball

Get your boots and get ready for some two stepping — because the American Cancer Society is hosting the Cowtown Ball this weekend at The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion. The charity event will feature live music from “The hardest working man in country music”, Aaron Tippin. Online ticket sales have ended but you can still call 817.737.9990. So grab a dancin’ partner and head down to the river!

Cops for Kids – Music Festival, 5K, Car Show, BBQ Cook-Off

Cops of Kids will be here before we know it! The two-day non-profit festival will feature a music festival, 5K run, BBQ cook-off and car show will take place March 25-26 at Panther Island Pavilion. The free Chisholm Trail Music Festival will feature performances from Micky and the Motorcars, Statesboro Revue, Josh Grider, Dalton Domino and Josh Michael & The Hawks. Talk about a lineup!

The Fort Worth Cops for Kids Program is a 501 c3 non-profit organization founded in 2003, and through private funding, has served over 5,000 at-risk/disadvantaged children in the Fort Worth community by providing gifts to children in local hospitals, offering scholarship opportunities, providing school supplies and arranging social activities. Fort Worth Cops for Kids demonstrates local law enforcement’s’ continued concern for the children in our community by encouraging them to build stronger family relationships, fostering quality friendships with a focus on education.

Mardi Gras comes to Fort Worth for a fun run and post-race party complete with awards, music, beer and other Mardi Gras fun. Race options include a two mile and four mile course and lots of beads, beads, beads!

Cops for Kids BBQ, Car Show,5K and Music Festival
March 25-26
Cops for Kids is a series of events which include a BBQ cook-off competition, car show, 5K run and the Chisholm Trail Music Festival. All events take place around The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion.

Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival — #latenight Desserts After Dark
April 1 FWFWF’s #latenight aims to please: using Firestone & Robertson’s TX Blended Whiskey in their creations, 12 pastry chefs and 12 mixologists craft special eats and drinks to sample and vote on.

This fun, picnic inspired day will feature a combination of food trucks and chefs serving up family friendly foods. It will also feature two chuck wagons, beverages for adults and kids, along with a fun games area.

Last year this event at PIP included 10,000 walkers who raised more than $900,000 to support March of Dimes. Join the fight for healthy babies.

American Cancer Society’s Cowtown Ball
April 30
Help support The American Cancer Society of North Texas at the annual gala featuring a performance from Aaron Tippin. In its two decades, this event has raised almost $7 million to help people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back against cancer in our community.

If you love supporting local craft brewers then you won’t want to miss this event. The Fort Worth Weekly is closing out the NTX Beer Week in style at the First Annual Homebrew Throwdown which will take place Sunday, November 15 at The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion.

The event will showcase local homebrewers competing for the title of top brew which will be judged by established brewers from local breweries like Rahr, Panther Island Brewing, Martin House, Revolver and many more. In addition, there will be food, drinks, Q&A with local breweries, local music and more.

Don’t want to miss the Cowboys game? Don’t worry, they’ll have the game on so you won’t miss a second of the action.

Ranch Bash is ON — Rain or Shine!

You know a little rain won’t stop us from party this weekend at the BIGGEST single-day Texas music festival in North Texas! That’s right, Ranch Bash 2015 is on RAIN OR SHINE! To help keep you dry (and mud-free) they’ve moved the festival to The Shack at PIP. They’re also setting up three big ass tents to expand the site.

You won’t want to miss this lineup which includes Reckless Kelly, Cody Jinks, Mike Ryan, Uncle Lucius, Will Hoge, Shinyribs, Zane Williams, Statesboro Revue, Tyler and the Tribe and Ransom Rhodes. Oh and did we mention tickets are only $10. No, that’s not a typo, tickets only 10 bucks!
