We are so excited to take advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend and host the JDRF One Walk at Panther Island Pavilion (PIP). The 5K walk will take place along the Trinity Trails and the family-friendly after party, located at PIP, will feature a bounce house, a DJ and more.
What is the JDRF One Walk you ask? Well, the JDRF One Walk has a single goal: creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D). We hope you’ll join this year and help JDRF continue to fund life-changing research for the millions of children, adults and families affected by T1D.
Even if you can’t participate you can still donate to the walk and help them reach their goal of raising $401,937 goal.

Detox and Retox at Sunday Funday
Beginning this Sunday, August 2nd, Indigo Yoga will host one hour, donation-based classes on the waterfront stage at Panther Island Pavilion. Indigo Yoga has been Fort Worth’s only Baptiste Yoga affiliate studio since 2006, and teaches over 200 classes a month at their home studio and in the community.
All proceeds from the classes will be donated to The Blue Butterfly Foundation. The mission of The Blue Butterfly Foundation is to provide yoga as a complimentary treatment model for addicts in recovery as well as train teachers to teach in at-risk environments. Indigo Yoga’s Co-Owner and Director, as well as Blue Butterfly’s Founder and Executive Director, Brooke Hamblet and her team of teachers have taught yoga at a local Fort Worth addiction recovery center, Pine Street, since 2008, where they offer classes to the clients in addiction treatment. Over the past seven years they have taught well over 25,000 clients in recovery. In addition, The Blue Butterfly Foundation is developing a comprehensive treatment model based on yogic teaching and healing. From that model, services have been expanded at Pine Street and multiple mental health facilities and clinics in Tarrant County to include more daily classes, workshops and extended treatment intensives.
After your class you can cross the river and head straight to Sunday Funday, a laid-back, family friendly day on the Trinity River featuring tubes, tunes, water sports, food and craft beer from Panther Island Brewing. Sunday Funday takes place every Sunday at Panther Island Pavilion from noon – 6:00 pm. Admission and parking are free and tube rentals are only $5!
Volunteer at Fort Worth’s Fourth
Are you looking to give back to the community while celebrating our nation’s independence?
We have the perfect opportunity for you. Join us Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Panther Island Pavilion for Fort Worth’s Fourth. Last year we had over 60,000 people celebrate with us, all it takes to volunteer is a smiling face and a hard-working attitude.
As a thank you, volunteers will receive a free pass to a VIP section at the event.
Sunday Funday Postponed
Due to recent rains and flooding, the Tarrant Regional Water District will release water from upstream lakes for the next 2-3 weeks. This additional water will increase the velocity of the Trinity River, creating unsafe conditions for tubing and watersports at Panther Island Pavilion. Because safety is a top concern for event organizers, we have delayed the start of the popular Sunday Funday events by two weeks.
Sunday Funday, a laid-back day of family-friendly fun in the sun, will now begin June 28th. The relaxing event will feature tubing, craft beer from Panther Island Brewing, kayak/canoe/SUP rentals from Backwoods Paddlesports at Panther Island Rentals, SUP yoga from The Yoga Project Fort Worth Studio, disc golf from Funkytown Flyers and more. Food will be available for purchase from various vendors throughout the series such as Chez Flo, Gepetto Pizza, Sweet Baby Ray’s, Smokey’s BBQ and Tail Feathers Wing Wagon. Refreshments such as juice from The Juice Caboose and snow cones from Snowpoke will also be available at all events this summer.
Rockin’ the River Posponed
Due to recent rains and flooding, the Tarrant Regional Water District will release water from upstream lakes for the next 2-3 weeks. This additional water will increase the velocity of the Trinity River, creating unsafe conditions for tubing and water sports at Panther Island Pavilion.
Because safety is a top concern for event organizers, we have delayed the start of the popular Thursday night tubing and music series, Rockin’ the River, to June 25th. The series kick-off show will feature Mike and the Moonpies. Prophets and Outlaws have been rescheduled for August 20th and Brandon Jenkins will now close to series on August 27th.
Rockin’ the River is back for the fifth year!
Rockin’ the River is back for the fifth year and we have a great season lined up; we’re bringing in some fresh acts as well as favorites from previous years. With the addition of The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion, now all Rockin’ the River events will happen rain or shine!
New this year is a Parrothead theme night with Jimmy Buffett cover-band, The Land Sharks. They’ve played with, backed up, and opened for Jimmy Buffett in concert. Plus they’ve opened for The Beach Boys and even played at the Super Bowl.
The gates open at 4:30 pm and patrons can bring a blanket and chairs or enjoy front row seats from the comfort of a tube. At 6:45 pm the headliner will kick off on the Coors Waterfront Stage. At 8:30pm the after party band will play on the south shore stage and then the festivities end at dark with a fireworks show. In addition to the two stages, the Coors Riverfront Ice House will be back serving ice cold brews, providing shaded seating as well as live tvs which play Rangers games when they’re on!
Rockin’ the River is presented by Andrews Distributing Company and Coors Light. It is generously sponsored by North Texas Marine, Backwoods Fort Worth, Margaritaville, 95.9 The Ranch, DFW.com, Pepsi and produced by the Trinity River Vision Authority.
